All Things Trad Climbing

Are you interested in learning more about what it takes to protect yourself on an outdoor climb without the help of bolts? Traditional climbing, or trad climbing, is not only useful for ascending crack systems and other climbable terrain without the help of pre-placed bolts for protection. These techniques and pieces of equipment can also be used to better protect the distance between bolts on sport climbs, and ultimately gives you access to a whole new world of climbing!

This informational only class is for those interested by the style of traditional climbing, but do not know where to start. In this class, we will dive into the history of trad climbing, the different styles of protection, and placements of trad gear.

This class is designed to be an informational class teaching you about the types of gear used for trad climbing. This will not be enough time or information to make someone a proficient trad climber. The way to dive into these topics deeper will be made available at the end of class!
